 All of our positions are filled for the 2019 Season. We will start reviewing applications for the 2020 season in January of 2020.

We are hiring for all positions for the 2019 season.  We grow a diverse selection of high quality vegetables and edible flowers using Biodynamic and organic techniques while also raising animals using regenerative pasture management.  We are an owner operated farm and work directly with our crew to cultivate a positive and efficient working environment.  Ideal candidates would have an interest in small scale, diversified, and sustainable farming, the ability to work with urgency regardless of the situation or task, and be able to communicate effectively at all times.  These are demanding positions which will require a driving ambition to complete the work in any weather condition.  Applicants must be flexible in scheduling and attitude, detail oriented, and invested in Stirring Soil Farm's success.

Part Time Farm Hand

Work on the farm will be a mix of harvesting, helping in the wash station, and general field work.  Mornings will begin with harvesting and packing vegetables and flowers for our chef accounts.  Afternoons will be focused on field work in both the vegetable fields and pastures.  Field work may include; weeding by hand and with hand tools, preparing beds for transplanting and seeding, setting and maintaining irrigation, trellising, broadcasting pasture cover crop, setting fence lines with T-posts and step-ins, mixing feed for the chickens and pigs.

  • June-September

  • 2 days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday)

  • 7:00am-3:00pm

  • Additional hours available for the right candidate

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Previous farming experience (volunteer and gardening experience acceptable)

  • Comfortable working outdoors

  • Positive attitude

  • Ability to work with urgency in all situations

  • Quick learner, detail orientated

  • Reliable transportation

  • Compensation will reflect experience, starting at $9.00/hour

Part Time Distribution Assistant

As a distribution assistant, Tuesday shifts will begin at Happy Basset Brewing Company.  Work will include; help unloading the farm truck, setting up displays, greeting and interacting with customers, executing sales using our point of sale system, receiving payments, and distributing CSA shares.  The end of your shift will be breaking down the displays and packing the farm truck.  Saturday's will include all of these responsibilities, but will be located at the Downtown Topeka Farmer's Market.
